This Hybrid Broom Bear is an example of Elgin’s continuous commitment to helping its customers reduce their carbon footprint. Tough on debris, easy on the environment, the vehicle will be recharging its high-powered battery while you drive or by the plugin when it’s done for the day.
The standards remain unchanged for the Elgin Hybrid Broom Bear. The sweeper has a short wheelbase, large-diameter brooms, and a dual-mode air suspension system ideal for sweeping in densely populated areas. The large hopper and water tank result in a more productive sweeping time and fewer scheduled stops. The Hybrid sweeper’s low noise volume will add value to the operator and the residential residents living where sweepers routinely operate.

Broom Bear Speciality Sweeper
The Broom Bear has an option to be powered by compressed natural gas. The Sweeper has a commercial chassis with a single-engine mechanical sweeper! The Broom Bear is powered by Cummins Westport LgNN-Gas natural gas engine making the sweeper a fully certified EPA/CARB emission standards single-engine street sweeper. The Broom Bear can also be an SCAQMD rule 1186 compliant with the optional PM-10 package. The vehicle has three 3600 psi composite fuel tanks and a generous 51-gallon diesel equivalent fuel capacity giving a wide range beyond the standard diesel Broom Bear. Not only is the Broom Bear easy to operate, but it is also now easy on the environment while sparing no cost of being tough on debris.
